When unit sites are available

When you have been enrolled into your course, you will be placed into the unit sites for that course in VET Learn.   Lecturers will be setting up their sites in the lead up to a semester, so unit sites are closed during that time, and therefore will not appear on the student's list of accessible sites, until the unit starts, or perhaps just before that date.  Just because you cannot see a subject site in VET Learn does not mean you haven't been enrolled in the unit.

To check whether you are enrolled, go to your Student Record:

  • On any page, click on the Student Records tab, (or under Student Resources tab).  You will be prompted to log in here.  Your username is:  your student ID number (the same as for VET Learn), and your password is your first initial and your surname as one word; with your 2 initials in capitals.   E.G.  John Smith's password would be:  JSmith
    • Once in your Student record site, click on Courses tab , and under your course, click on More....   All units your are enrolled in will be displayed here.
    • Note:  files for the unit are not stored here, but in the Unit site in VET Learn.
  • As soon as a lecturer opens a site, it will appear under the student's Dashboard.
  • The lecturer may send students a welcome message, to let them know the site is open, and accessible to students.  This message will most likely be in the Forum Daily Digest sent to students' email inbox.
