Contact with Lecturer or other VET staff

Your lecturers or other VET staff may contact students via their personal email addresses, or through the student's unit site, or through the Student Records website (Tabor Vocational Education & Training Portal) depending on the type of contact. VET Admin staff will be more likely to contact students via emails. Lecturers will be more likely to contact through the forums on the unit sites, or via an online message. It is important that you know how your lecturer, in particular, will contact students, and that you check emails, forum daily digests, online messages, and your Student Records portal regularly. Any message from your lecturer via the Announcements forum in a unit site, will come to the student's email inbox after 3pm on the day it was made, in the Forum digest, so please make sure you open these and check messages. You will see each forum post, the site it came from by the unit code, and just below that the name of the person who made the forum post. You can also return to that forum post message at any time, in the unit site, and by clicking on: and on the message subject link. Note that this link may be called News Forum, as this was the previous name and not all sites have been changed.
If you wish you can change your forum preferences so that you receive each forum message as soon as it is made in the forum, and as a single email.
To reset for this:
- Click on your name in the top left hand corner once logged into VET Learn
- Click on Preferences
- Under User account, click on Forum preferences
- At the Email digest type field, select No digest (single email per forum post). Note the other option - if you prefer - Subjects (daily email with subjects only) And subjects means units.
Contact your lecturer:
- You can contact your lecturer via their email address just below their photo on their unit site. You will contact them with any specific questions about the unit, and assignments.
